What does being on the advanced review copy (ARC) list mean?

You get a copy of my upcoming book (in this case, Separated, With Benefits) before it’s released to the public with the express purpose of writing a fair review of the book. Then, when the book is released, you post that review on Amazon. I’m not looking to buy five-star ratings—I think the material speaks for itself—just honest reviews so that I’ve got something to start with on release day.

Does this mean you get a free copy of the book?

Technically, yes. But in order for the reviews to have weight and have the “verified” tag next to the review, I’d appreciate that you still purchase it. Also, the ARC is a PDF, so if you want to get it on your Kindle (or paperback), then purchasing it is the way to go.

How much earlier is the ARC vs. the release copy?

Usually about a week. I try to give readers enough time to read it and process it.

Is the ARC any different than the release copy?

It’s mostly the same. There may be a few typos that I clean up between the ARC and the final version, but nothing major will change.
